History of the Institute

The Programme of capacity expansion of vocational training system in Govt. sector was taken up at the beginning of 12th Five year plan period which includes establishment of new Govt. ITIs at the unserviced districts with basic objectives to equip the local youths with required skill suitable for their wages/self employment. In view of it Govt. of Odisha decided in the year 2013 to establish an Industrial Training Institute for Jharsuguda district under the Craftsman training pattern with a view to facilitate the employment youths and school drop outs to be equipped with skill training appropriate for their employment/self employment in the emerging industrial scenario of the state and outside the state and also for substantial growth of vocational training in the state.

Keeping in view of the above facts, Industrial Training Institute, Jharsuguda, one of the premier institution in Western Odisha established in the year of 2014 and is imparting training in different trades introducing from time to time by the Govt. as per the need. This institute is directly under the administrative control of the Director of Technical Education & Training, Odisha, SD&TE Department, Govt. of Odisha.
